Well it all starts with getting really clear on one thing…YOUR WHY.

Do you know your why for wanting to start an online business and become an entrepreneur in the first place?…

Or for wanting to tap into the Internet and online marketing to enhance your current offline business?

You need to understand why you have decided to take this path!

You wouldn’t have embarked on this journey unless there is SOMETHING in your life or in your current business that you are unhappy with.This “something” has caused you to make this commitment to changing your current situation and achieving a brighter, better future for yourself.Right now you probably think your WHY is money…but I have found that it rarely is about money.

In fact, I can GUARANTEE that your “TRUE WHY” for embarking on this journey to change your life has NOTHING to do with money.

If you are brand new to building an online business and online marketing I bet you are sick and tired of sitting in a work cubicle or office making someone else rich.

You want to take control of your income because you know that your current income isn’t increasing much and is not truly secure. There is always the possibility that you could be laid off with little to no notice.

You also crave creative independence. You want to pave your own life path because sitting behind a desk for 8 hours a day isn’t spiritually fulfilling.

You seek personal and time freedom. You want to spend more time doing the things you love with the people you love most because your 9-5 has you time-strapped. And you usually want to better the lives of others rather than simply sit by and watch greedy corporations fill their pockets.

These things are more important to you than just money!

If you have tried to free yourself through network marketing, I’ve found that most people are sick and tired of all the time-consuming and futile tactics they’ve been taught. Tactics like going to home and hotel meetings, door-to-door knocking, cold calling and even begging friends and family for referrals.

And even if you went further than that and started an offline small business you are looking to move online because you are struggling to get leads, spending a lot of money on direct mailings, print ads and mailbox flyer drops with little to no results.

This is wasted time away from your families hustling to get customers and clients. Time that you don’t want to sacrifice just to make a living.

You see it usually has nothing to do with the money and if you take action and put in the work, the Internet and online marketing can help you eliminate all of these problems you are facing.

When done right, an online business can allow you to start pulling customers towards you rather than you spending a ton of your money and time chasing them, while realizing daily profits in an automated way.

But first you need to get clear on YOUR why and understand that even though you may want to make 6 figures…or even 7+ figures a year, money is most likely not why you have decided to take this path in life!

Make Your "TRUE WHY" the Focus of Your Every Decision

Once you have determined your true why, make it your focus moving forward.

This is your core driving force that you must keep forefront at all times to maintain momentum and keep pushing you forward.

This is the only thing that is going to fuel your determination to achieve your dream.

Seriously!

Print a picture of your why and stick it on a cork board on the wall right in front of your computer. Look at it every single day. Look at it every single time you sit down to work on your online business.

This is what I call YOUR WHY BOARD. Some people call it a vision board. But whatever you call yours, create one today!

If your true why is to provide your kids with more opportunity in life…then stick a picture of your kids on your why board. If you want to make enough money to send them to a prestigious college or university, pin pictures of these universities next to the picture of your kids.

If your why is to live the laptop lifestyle and have the time freedom to travel the world…then print out pictures of all the countries, beaches, attractions in the world you want to visit and pin them on your board.

This is exactly what I did when I first dove into this world of online marketing and building an online business back in 2006.

My WHY has always been to have the financial, time and location freedom to spend more time with my aging parents in my home island of Barbados and to go surfing in exotic locations throughout the world.

I stuck photos of my parents, Barbados and various surf destinations on to a huge cork board.

This WHY board has traveled with me from Day 1 of my online journeyback in 2006, when I couldn’t even afford rent and had to live in thecorner of my brother’s place…all the way to the condo my wife and I lived in overlooking the lakefront of Downtown Toronto.

My WHY has since evolved and changed along my journey and as I’ve gotten older.

Now that I am in my 40s, married and growing a family I’ve turned a lot of my focus to not just growing my income but investing the money I make to grow my wealth. This is why I started investing in real estate back in 2012.

Therefore my WHY now is also centered around my love ones and leaving a legacy behind.

I also want to own a beautiful wooden home and an AUDIO R8 so those are also up on my board : ).

The pictures on my WHY board have therefore changed as my WHY has evolved but it’s always in my face every time I sit down to work on continuing to grow my online business and real estate business.
